Work With Me — KiwiAmericans

Work With Me

Move to New Zealand with a clear plan.

Visa direction, an NZ-ready job hunt, and the move itself — with me coaching your family until you land. I moved my family of six from the USA to New Zealand in 2013, and I've walked hundreds of American families through it since.

No job or visa guarantees. Immigration decisions and employer timelines are outside anyone's control — including mine. What I control is that you never waste a month redoing a step you got wrong.

First, the truth nobody selling you a dream will say.

Most families take 12 to 18 months to land in New Zealand. The four families further down this page took 13, 14, 18 and 19. Anyone promising you 90 days is selling something.

That's why I don't sell you a course, a template pack, or an hour of my time. I sell you a coach for the whole journey — because the journey is long, and the expensive mistakes happen in the gaps between the steps.

The Inside Track

One program. Two phases.
However long it takes.

Queenstown, New Zealand

Phase 1 — Get the job.

Your licensed visa eligibility assessment comes first, so you know you have a real pathway before we touch anything else. Then we make you hireable in New Zealand terms: your CV reworked so it doesn't read as arrogant to a Kiwi hiring manager, interview prep, and a bi-weekly rhythm that keeps you actually applying instead of researching forever.

Phase 2 — Make the move.

Job offer sorted. Now you have a new set of problems — the move plan, the visa filing, the movers, the pets, the taxes, the schools, the bank account, the first fortnight. You get my vetted partner network, your personal move strategy session, and a landing crew waiting on the other side.

Phase 1 gets you the job.
Phase 2 gets you moved. I coach you through both.

What you get — including the thing everyone else charges you for first.

Phase 1 — Get the job

  • Licensed visa eligibility assessment — included. Run by licensed immigration advisers. You'll know if you have a realistic pathway in your first weeks, not your second year.
  • Resume & CV review — rebuilt for how New Zealand actually hires, not how America does.
  • Interview prep sessions — including the American habits that quietly end job hunts here.
  • Job workshop with an NZ HR specialist — someone who sits on the other side of the table.
  • Bi-weekly huddles — accountability, live, with me. Bring anything.
  • Community + Training Hub access — 40+ videos and a room full of families a few steps ahead of you. Only available inside the program. It's not sold separately.

Phase 2 — Make the move

  • Your personalised move plan — a 1:1 call with me. Your actual move, mapped, out loud.
  • My vetted partner network — movers, US tax specialists, pet shippers, rentals, schools. People I've watched work.
  • $900+ in member partner discounts — this alone covers most of a term.
  • Ambassadors + community waiting when you land — real, named people who are a few weeks ahead of you.
  • The 30-day course on setting up life in NZ — bank, IRD, doctor, school, car, phone. The first month is when people panic.

The Inside Track

Everything above, valued separately: $3,200

$799

for six months · renews until you land

Plainly: $799 for six months. It renews at $799 every six months while you're still in process — because most families take 12 to 18 months, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. Phase 1 is usually your first term. Phase 2 is usually your second.

Landed — or decided New Zealand isn't your path? You cancel. No hoops, no guilt. You'll get a reminder the week before your renewal, not a surprise.

Your licensed visa assessment is included in that $799.

The Guarantee

Complete your visa assessment. If the licensed advisers confirm you have no viable pathway — full refund. Every dollar. You'll have lost two weeks instead of three years, and you'll finally know.

Who this is for.

This is for you if…

  • You're done saving posts and ready to actually execute.
  • You want someone who's made this exact move keeping you off the landmines.
  • You can handle honest answers — including "your timeline is 15 months, not 3."
  • Your spouse is in, or willing to be convinced by real information.

This is not for you if…

  • You want one document, one call, or one answer. I don't sell pieces anymore — I found the pieces don't work. People bought the CV, got no interviews, and blamed the CV. It was never the CV. It was the order.
  • You want it done for you. That's not this.
  • You expect a guaranteed job or visa. Nobody honest can sell you that.
Tara, founder of KiwiAmericans

Who you're actually working with

Kia ora — I'm Tara.

In 2013 I moved my family of six from the USA to New Zealand — and then did the whole thing again. I've hit most of these landmines myself, which is the only reason I can see them coming for you.

I'm not selling you a dream about New Zealand. There's plenty of that online already. I'm selling you the fine print, in the right order, from someone who has lived it — and who'll still be here in month fourteen when it gets hard.

Families who actually landed.

Every timeline below is measured the honest way — from the webinar they watched to the day they arrived.

"He attended your webinar yesterday… he immediately called me and was like, we need to 100% use Tara — she's going to make this so much easier, and she's the real deal."

Kelsey E.The spouse conversation

"I'd been trying to figure it all out online, but the internet was just a rabbit hole that I could not find my way out of. The day I found this community I kind of jumped immediately — and finally felt like I had someone in my corner."

Dana S.Webinar to arrival · 13 months

"I'm going alone — me, my three-year-old and my eight-year-old — with my husband following months later once the pets could fly. On paper it looked impossible. I went from how will I even do this? to booked and boarding."

Jessica W.Webinar to arrival · 14 months

"Most people get the visa right; it's the job that stalls the whole move. Knowing exactly what actually works — CV, cover letter, interview prep — turned the last scary unknown into a plan."

Linda H.Webinar to arrival · 18 months

"After months of doing it alone, suddenly there were real, named people who'd already landed and were just a few weeks ahead of me. The move stopped feeling like a leap into the dark and started feeling like following a lit path."

John B.Webinar to arrival · 19 months

"We moved to Nelson in June and have purchased a house and moved in. We have no regrets at all. What should have been a 12-month project — squeezed into 3. Thanks for what you do."

Ken L.Landed · Nelson

Questions people actually ask.

Can I just buy the CV help, one call, or the resume templates?

No — and that's deliberate. I used to sell those separately and watched people buy one piece, do it out of order, and stall. The CV doesn't work without the visa direction. The job hunt doesn't work without the CV. Everything I used to sell separately is inside The Inside Track now, and it costs less than two of the old pieces did.

How long does it really take?

Most families: 12 to 18 months. Some faster, some slower. Anyone quoting you 90 days is selling something.

What happens at the six-month mark?

If you're still in process, your membership renews and we move into whatever phase you're in — for most families that's the move itself. You get a reminder the week before. Landed already? Cancel and go live your life. That's the entire point.

Do I need the visa assessment first?

It's included, and it comes first. You'll know you have a pathway before we spend a minute on jobs.

I already have a CV and I've been applying.

If it isn't producing New Zealand interviews, that's positioning, not effort. It's fixable, and it's most of Phase 1.

What if my spouse isn't sure?

Bring them to the free webinar — it's built for both of you. And remember the guarantee: if there's no pathway, you get everything back. There's no version of this where you lose money finding out.

Does this guarantee a job or a visa?

No. Anyone who says yes is lying to you. What it does is put you in the strongest possible position, in the right order, with someone watching for the mistakes you can't see coming.

This is how we work together.

One program, two phases, and me in your corner until your family is standing on New Zealand soil.
