ACCEPTED INVESTMENT OPTIONS

To qualify for New Zealand's residence by investment program, your funds must meet specific criteria and be invested in eligible New Zealand-based assets approved by the Overseas Investment Office.

  • Direct investments as approved by Invest New Zealand

Balanced Category Investments

  • Managed funds as approved by Invest New Zealand
  • Direct investments as approved by Invest New Zealand
  • New Zealand listed equities
  • Bonds (NZ government, local authority, or corporate)
  • Property development (residential, commercial, or industrial)*
  • Philanthropy (up to NZ$7.5 million to registered charities)

*Special conditions apply to all forms of property development — specialist advice required.

Unacceptable Investments

  • Personal housing or land
  • Non-productive land
  • Offshore investments
  • Family-use assets

STEP 1:

ONGOING COMPLIANCE

  • Growth: Investment audits at 24 and 36 months
  • Balanced: Investment audits at 24 and 60 months
  • Maintain investment for full term

STEP 7:

PERMANENT RESIDENCY

  • Convert to Permanent Resident Visa after investment term complete

  • These visas are valid for life
